Te Mauri o te wai

On Wednesday 24th of June Te Puna Wairua went on a trip to Te Oro. Before we went to Te Oro Whaea Lee - Ann marked the roll, then we had to put on our shoes to go to the bus. When we got to the bus, some of us said good morning to the bus driver and walked to our seats. While we were going to Te Oro, we sang some waiata like the Matariki song. When we arrived there, we all walked out of the bus saying Ngā mihi to the bus driver, then we walked into Te Oro, Matua Andre walked us to our kaiako her name was Whaea Lorna. When we got there, the Whaea Lorna done a karanga for us and took us into the whare/house. What we did next was we looked at some trees/rākau, Matua Lorrie taught us about some pou whenua and which rākau they were carved out of. The rākau that we saw was a Mānuka, a Tōtara and a Kauri rākau. After that we had to get into three groups where we had to go to these workshops. They were Uku/clay, Harakeke and Kotuhituhi and the one I was in was Kotuhituhi it was fun and what we did in my group, was e wha ngā pouaka on the pepa and we have to draw a Mangopare, Kapi rua, Niho Taniwha and lastly there was Koru. We had to put all of the ingoa into the 4 boxes on the pepa. Whaea Kelly and Whaea Kahu were my kaiako, Whaea Kelly took us out into the foyer where she gave me and my roopu a koha which was a Koohatu. Whaea Kelly told us a puurakau about our Koohatu and where they had come from and we were allowed to paint them with one of the designs that we had learnt earlier. We played a game of Matariki, while all the other roopu were finishing off their mahi toi. After that we sang the Matariki waiata before we left the whare. We went onto the bus leaving Te Oro, once we got back to kura we all went back into mahi!

Tranzfor mers is boxing club it so cool and tiring. You always have to do exercise and that's good for me that's why i joined all so cool because if you train hard and listening and not talking you will get are pizza ate the end of the term and also we will get lollies and certificate and fizzy drink.

Motat trip

Last Friday we went to Motat for a school trip. I really enjoyed riding on the tram.

I also loved  playing the old arcade games

Last Monday we practiced for an earthquake during the school shake out.
